Cædmon’s Hymn

New edition of the Eordu Recension of Cædmon’s Hymn

Bede’s Historia ecclesiastica includes Cædmon’s Hymn, the earliest Old English poem, in its Latin translation. A newly discovered ninth-century manuscript from Nonantola contains the hymn in Old English, predating other versions by 300 years.
